On March 17, an animal rescue shelter received an urgent call regarding an abandoned pregnant dog near the highway in Coronado. While a few kind-hearted people had previously given her some food, she had also faced hostility and rejection from many others. Frightened and exhausted, she chose to hide in an open field. Breathing heavily, it was clear that she was very close to giving birth, and the lives of both the mother and her unborn puppies were in grave danger. Fortunately, a kind woman spotted her and immediately contacted the rescue team.

When the rescuer approached the scene, the frightened dog tried to run away, but her weakened body couldn’t take her far. He quietly followed her until she collapsed from sheer exhaustion. With patience and gentleness, the rescuer skillfully used food to lure her into a specialized rescue crate. The plan worked perfectly, and the dog remained incredibly calm and cooperative, realizing she was finally safe. She was immediately rushed to the veterinary clinic.
At the clinic, the veterinarian confirmed that she was only a few days away from giving birth. The ultrasound brought incredible news: there were at least 10 puppies in her womb, all showing healthy heartbeats. Although the mother dog was slightly underweight, suffered from a dislocated hip, and was severely infested with ticks, she was exceptionally gentle and cooperative throughout her treatment. She quietly enjoyed a medical bath to remove the parasites and loved receiving gentle belly massages.
That very night, though understandably anxious and restless, the mother dog’s natural instincts took over as she prepared for labor. A true miracle happened when she successfully gave birth to 11 beautiful and completely healthy puppies—one more than the initial ultrasound had shown.
The days that followed were filled with pure joy. Watching the newborn puppies enjoy their very first sunbath in the warm morning light was an absolute delight. The puppies grew incredibly fast. Before long, some of them had already found their forever homes: the rescuer’s niece, Laya, adopted one; their neighbor, Dyer, chose another; and a puppy named Black was also welcomed by a loving family.
Now, the puppies are 50 days old. They are perfectly healthy, playful, and bursting with energy. Watching them run happily across the green grass, chasing each other, tumbling around, and exploring the world with endless curiosity is truly heartwarming.
Nearby, their mother watches over them with pride. Finally, after surviving the dangers of the harsh roadside, she can rest easy knowing that her little ones are safe and loved. It is a beautiful reminder of just how far they have come, and how timely compassion can completely rewrite a story of hardship into one of hope.
