These were Bonito and Lynch. Their condition shocked the rescuers: their fur was heavily matted with mud, their skin was sore, and ticks were burrowed deep beneath their thick coats.
When the rescue team offered to help, the owner initially wanted them to take the dogs for treatment and then bring them back. Knowing that returning the dogs to such a neglectful environment was out of the question, the rescuers firmly refused. After some discussion, the owner demanded money to surrender his ownership.
